The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
